Baby on Board!

Introducing Liv Aline Deeks, born Dec 4, 2008 at Squamish General Hospital, 8 lbs 15.5 ounces.

Bob and I were well taken care of at SGH by the amazing staff and doctors. The c-section was a bit of a surprise but it all went exceptionally well!

Liv is a treasure! Bob and I are delighted! We are having a great time living with her. She is a great sleeper. We know we are lucky in that regard.

I started doing exercise at home about two weeks ago. My back and abs need some attention!

Grandpa and Granny Deeks are babysitting two days a week so I can go to Feldenkrais lessons! How lucky is that! Bob come 1 night a week to those lessons and the other night he is teaching spin class. So we have a sort of date night 1 x/wk.

I have been out x-country skiing a bit and just now getting back to the gym and the pool. It is a bit of a juggle breast feeding and exercising with a babe. The next thing is get back on a PROGRAM to TRAIN! Running and spinning and adding some yoga!

I did sign up for a 1/2 iron this June so I better get a move on!

I also would like to get back into coaching a few athletes.

I am working on the preparations for the May 23, 2009 Whistler Kids of Steel and Try-A-Tri race. That keeps me busy too.

All that being said, am loving being a mom. I am keeping house and taking care of babe and getting in some me time too. So far the balance is pretty good. I am aware that it is new each day. I am getting sleep now a days so I feel good. The fine line is always in sight. The fine line that demarks enough sleep and patience and not enough sleep another night and being "grumpy". My moods mostly are dependent on getting time out of the house. If I feel cooped up then I start to unravel.

All in all famiy life is excellent...She is my new boss and I am OK with that.
